О премии

Премия «Корона» - английская литературная премия Ассоциации писателей-историков.

Эта награда ежегодно присуждается за лучшие исторические художественные и документальные книги автору любой национальности. Книга должна быть впервые опубликована в Великобритании на английском языке в период проведения судейства.

Премия была организована в 2012 году Ассоциацией писателей-историков (Historical Writers Association/ HWA).

Писатели, издатели и агенты исторической литературы, как художественной, так и научно-популярной, создали Ассоциацию, чтобы оказывать профессиональную и социальную поддержку ее членам, а также создавать возможности онлайн и личных встреч с читателями, коллегами-писателями и любителями всего исторического.

Премия вручается в трех номинациях:
- Золотая Корона / The HWA Gold Crown (за лучший исторический художественный роман);
- Корона документальной литературы / The HWA Non-Fiction Crown (за лучшую документальную историческую работу);
- Корона дебюта / The HWA Debut Crown (за лучшую дебютную историческую книгу).

Первоначально формируется длинный список номинируемых на премию книг.
По каждой номинации имеется свое жюри, члены которого выбирают шесть лучших книг-финалистов.

На церемонии вручения Премии, проходящей в Лондоне, объявляются имена трех лауреатов Премии, по одному в каждой номинации.

Лауреатам вручаются специальные статуэтки.

В первый год вручения номинация называлась HWA Endeavour Ink Gold Crown в честь книжного издательства "Endeavour Ink".

Присуждается с 2017 года за лучшую документальную историческую работу.

Корона дебюта
The HWA Debut Crown

Присуждается за лучшую дебютную историческую книгу.
